An exquisite splurge in my trip to Puerto Rico
I flew to St. Croix on a business trip and decided to stop in Puerto Rico for a day to do my preferred travel pastime: lavish shopping. My friends insisted I visit The Mall of San Juan and the Ashford Avenue in Condado.
My assistant booked the Condado Vanderbilt Penthouse Suite, located atop one of their towers. The tub was my most treasured amenity along with the 24-hour butler service. It was really nice and comfortable and truly one of the best luxury hotels in Puerto Rico. A lot of space for one person; my kind of place.
In The Mall of San Juan the first store I went to was Jimmy Choo. I was surprised to see many of the collections available in New York City in Puerto Rico. They even had a different variety of sandals that I really enjoyed. Bought three pairs of the same model in different colors and the cutest flats I’ve seen.
Then, I walked all the way to the other end of the mall just to see the Kate Spade bags. They didn’t disappoint me. The smell of leather was intoxicating and I loved the familiar pastel colors. I bought 2 bags to pair with my new Jimmy Choo’s.
On my way to Kate Spade I had passed Gucci, but since I was going to the Condado strip, I knew I could go to that Gucci store instead.
Two hours later and just a quick drive away, the taxi dropped me off at Cartier. There I gifted myself a gorgeous Ballon Bleu watch, 36 mm, 18K white gold with diamonds. I got my husband a Rotonde watch in platinum and leather with diamonds too. He absolutely adores it!
The last stop was Gucci, where a gorgeous red Bamboo Bag stopped me dead in my tracks. Again, the scent of authentic leather; my favorite moment of shopping handbags.
My day ended perfectly with a couple of cocktails back at the hotel, followed by a decadent dinner for one in 1919. I’m looking forward to coming back for more shopping and maybe stay a little longer and relax in a resort in Puerto Rico. Simply divine!
